Elami Jr by Robotland Inc. is regarded as one of the finest quality plastic robots produced to come out of the 80's. Elami would say "Hello, I am Elami Jr., your Electronic Friend! I am the first of a family of robots from Robotland.

Specifications - 8 bit microcomputer, 4K bytes ROM for operations, 16K bit speech processor & 2 x 128K ROM chips for vocabulary, Large LCD display - four espressions - happy, angry, suprised, sleepy, A total of 24 LED lights!, Two mechanical arms and grippers, 25 key talking keypad, 206 words of speech/15 programmable words or phrases, tactile bumper sensors, infrared sensor.

A. Infrared Sensor - Elami "sees" with the infrared sensor located above top centre of the 16 LED light display. The Infrared sensor is used to detect objects. Each time the robot "sees" and object with infrared, it sounds an alarm to alert you, moves backward, turns left and continues the program.

B. Tactile Bumper Sensors - Elami "feels" low objects with its bumper sensors located around the bumper ring. The bumper sensors are used to detect low objects. Each time the robot "feels" and object with infrared, it sounds an alarm to alert you, moves backward, turns left and continues the program.

C. Keypad - 25 character pressure sensitive talking keypad for programming Elami. Place finger directly over desired letter or number to be programmed. Remember to wait for the robot to "speak" each selection before entering another letter or number.
