WowWee Robosapien Humanoid Toy Robot with Remote Control

Robisapen V2 ® . . . . . . You may not know that a few years ago, the Wowwee Robosapien V2 was recalled by the company. This is because of a bad wiring harness in the legs. Some of the RSV2's, reportedly caught fire when they first started walking, after power up. Others fell over, and the batteries would spit out sparks and acid. This is because the plastic coating on many of the wires would crumble off and cause the systems to short out in the RSV2's. My suggestion is, if your RSV2 is still working properly good, DO NOT POWER HIM UP, remove the batteries immediately, until you exam his internal power wires, and repair the problem. There is a very good possibility that your RSV2 has the same issue.

I heard about this on robocommunity.com forums. Check it Out! I opened him up and sure enoug, yep! Now you know why the RSV2 is no longer in production. I am concerned that RSV2 owners know about this, and have a chance to get it fixed before the costly malfunctions occur. I have photos which I took during a tear down of RSV2 so you can get a good look at his main board, mechanical drive for his arms, and the crumbling wire insulation I found during the repair period. I hope this has been helpful and I'm glad I was able to save my precious robot! . . . . . . . Airomee
