Space Robot X-70 - Tulip Head Robot is primarily lithographed tinplate with plastic accessories.
Turn him on and he advances forwards with a lumbering movement; with his legs moving in alternate directions.
Flashing lights illuminate his neck while producing a soft metallic sound. Suddenly he stops. The top of his head begin to illuminate and flash.
His head then splits open in a petal-like "tulip" fashion into three pie-slice sections. This reveals a central stalk with a triple lens camera and an illuminated television screen. A lunar landscape with the planet Saturn is shown on the monitor.

Immediately after it opens, the entire head section including the camera and TV screen begins to rotate clockwise.
It then starts to emit a loud brrring sound.
Three complete revolutions are made with it stopping in exactly the same position it started with face forward.
The sound then stops, the flashing lights blink off, and the three heads sections snap closed.
He starts to walk forward again and the cycle is repeated.
